KEY HIGHLIGHTS: |
|
|
|
- Canadians pay significantly less than their
U.S. counterparts for consumer
wireline communications products.
- Whether it is a basic service bundle, or a
more options-rich package,
when comparing the equivalent services (with currency differences taken
into consideration), the average U.S. prices paid are about 66% higher
than the average Canadian prices.
- For a mid-level service package the most expensive
place in Canada
surveyed; Lethbridge, Alberta, was still less expensive than the least
expensive city surveyed in the U.S.; Seattle, Washington.
- Canadians pay far less in taxes and surcharges
on their phone bills than
their American counterparts.
- Mobility prices between Canada and the U.S.,
after currency conversion,
are roughly equivalent – but one can still find better deals south-of-the
border.
- Regina, Saskatchewan is awarded the crown
for the lowest prices for
communications services in North America.
